Soy Rafael Sagredo Baeza, soy historiador, académico en la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, en el Instituto de Historia, pero también trabajo en la Biblioteca Nacional; estoy encargado de una parte de sus publicaciones relacionadas con las ciencias sociales y las humanidades en el centro de investigaciones Barros Arana. A lo largo de mi carrera como historiador, profesor y gestor cultural, me he dedicado a la historia de Chile, después a la historia de América y también a la historia social de la ciencia –con los viajes de Darwin, Claudio Gay, Humboldt– a las transferencias científicas, y más recientemente, a la historia social de la cultura, ejemplificando con el caso de José Toribio Medina y su biblioteca Médica.
