Editorial Process and Ethics
Editorial Process
Initial Editorial Review
All submitted manuscripts will be evaluated by the editorial team to verify their thematic relevance, compliance with formal guidelines, quality of writing, and adherence to the journal’s ethical standards.
At this stage, the manuscript may be rejected, returned for formal revisions, or sent for peer review.
All manuscripts will also be screened using similarity detection tools to prevent plagiarism and self-plagiarism.
Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial review will be subject to external evaluation under a double-blind peer review system, involving at least two specialists in the field.
In case of conflicting evaluations, the editorial team may request a third review.
Editorial Decisions
Possible editorial decisions are: accepted; accepted with minor revisions; major revisions (conditional upon further review); or rejected.
Minor revisions do not require a new round of external review. Major revisions involve a new round of peer review.
Timelines
The peer review process has an estimated duration of 8 to 12 weeks. If revisions are requested, minor revisions must be submitted within 2 to 4 weeks, and major revisions within 4 to 8 weeks.
Failure to meet these deadlines may be considered a withdrawal from the editorial process.
Final acceptance will depend on the approval of the revised version by the editorial team and, when applicable, by the external reviewers. The total duration of the editorial process will depend on the review rounds and the journal’s publication schedule.
Resubmission of Manuscripts
Rejected manuscripts may be resubmitted only if they constitute a substantially revised version. In such cases, a new editorial process will be initiated.
Evaluation Criteria
Manuscripts will be evaluated based on:
- compliance with formal requirements and quality of writing
- clarity of the research problem and objectives
- theoretical and methodological rigor
- appropriate and up-to-date use of bibliography and sources
- argumentative coherence
- contribution to the journal’s field of study
