El libro ‘‘Hinchadas: Una cultura obstinada’’, de Camilo Améstica, publicado en 2024 por la editorial de la Universidad Central de Chile, es un giro epistemológico sobre el estudio de la hinchadas de fútbol y, en particular, del fenómeno de las barras bravas en ciencias sociales. La propuesta del autor quiebra con una tradición de estudio sobre las hinchadas, lo cual le permite identificar cómo opera el poder hegemónico en las lecturas sobre este grupo social y posibilita la exploración de espacios clausurados por estas lecturas. Nos invita a repensar este fenómeno desde una nueva perspectiva con el propósito de abrir sendas de análisis que se tornen más eficientes al momento de comprender a este grupo social en su contexto histórico y cultural en Chile.
