This paper reflects on violence in soccer, the analysis made by the sports press about it and the role of Social Sciences in its understanding. With this, we seek to question the consolidated discourse of sports journalism at a public level, making a diagnosis of the data on violence in soccer at a national and South American level, presenting the voice of fans and supporters about this phenomenon and, finally, highlighting the relevance and importance of the Social Sciences in the study of violence.
