Las jornadas de protesta nacional fueron un espacio donde diversas experiencias de organización, lucha y resistencia, comienzan a tomar fuerza a partir de los años ochenta. La pauperización de las condiciones materiales de la sociedad chilena, que venía arrastrando el sistema dictatorial, tuvo su expresión más crítica
con la crisis económica que se produce en 1982. Esta actuó como catalizador de las iniciativas de lucha y protesta del movimiento popular.
Esta investigación, trabajando con testimonios de militantes secundarios; declaraciones de principios, comunicados, panfletos y boletines; archivos de prensa y revistas (diarios oficiales de la época y revistas de oposición), busca indagar en las dinámicas de lucha y estrategia del movimiento de estudiantes secundarios. En particular el caso de la Coordinadora de Estudiantes de Enseñanza Media, que se expresó a través de repertorios de violencia política al interior de los Comités Democráticos que se encontraban organizados en diversas zonas de Santiago.
