Types of Contributions
Research Articles
These present original results from empirical or theoretical research, whether completed or in progress, with a clearly defined research problem, an explicit methodological approach, and rigorous use of sources.
They must contribute to historiographical and social science debates concerning the popular world, its historical processes, and its contemporary projections, in accordance with the journal’s scope.
Maximum length: 10,000 words (approximately 30 pages).
Reflection Articles
These develop critical and well-founded analyses addressing issues related to the journal’s thematic areas, grounded in research or theoretical discussion. They may derive from research projects, conferences, or keynote lectures, provided they offer a relevant interpretative contribution.
They may take the form of essays, as long as they present rigorous analytical development and meet the journal’s academic standards.
They are subject to the same formal requirements as research articles.
Maximum length: 8,000 words (approximately 20 pages).
Sources and Documents
This section publishes unpublished or little-known primary sources, accompanied by an introductory study that contextualizes the material, highlights its relevance, and discusses its historiographical value.
Submissions must meet academic standards equivalent to research articles in terms of rigor and presentation.
Maximum length: 5,000 words.
Reviews
These present critical evaluations of books published within the last five years, situating the work within the historiographical field and discussing its main contributions.
Reviews of undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral theses of academic relevance may also be considered.
Maximum length: 2,000 words (approximately 5 pages).
